Simba have been held to a 1-1 draw by Singida Big Stars in a tense NBC Premier League match played at Liti Stadium in Singida on Wednesday afternoon.
The hosting side seized the lead in the first half via Deus Kaseke who utilised well a timely pass from Said Ndemla beating Simba shot-stopper Beno Kakolanya.
In the second half, the Reds were an improved side after bringing on board Peter Banda who replaced veteran midfielder, Jonas Mkude.
Following series of attacks, at last the solid defense of the host was unmasked with Banda equalizing for his side in the 59th minute.
Here, Simba breathed fresh air as they looked certain to get a second goal but most of their attempts were easily diffused.
With the outcome, Simba have annexed 18 points from nine matches and have since recorded their third draw of the campaign.
The Msimbazi street giants are two points away from catching up with the current league leaders Young Africans who enjoy the top seat with 20 points in the bag.
On the other hand, Singida Big Stars have also accumulated 18 points after ten outings and have also stamped a third draw in the unfolding league.
