SIMBA said they are 100 per cent engaging the team’s technical bench in scouting new players to be added to the existing squad and make it competitive next season.
The Msimbazi Street Reds, who have endured the 2022/23 season without a title, are pledging to accomplish major signings by bringing on board success-hungry players capable to compete for titles in the upcoming campaign.
Another reason compelling the Msimbazi giants to shake up the squad is their desire to perform well in the upcoming CAF Super League of which they are the only envoys to represent the country.
But, speaking in the city on Friday, Simba’s Media and Communication Manager Ahmed Ally reiterated that in order to make meaningful signings, they are fully engaging the technical bench.
“We have a good technical staff under Head Coach Roberto Oliveira who has vast experience in African football and he is the one leading the scouting exercise,” he said.
Moreover, Ally assured Simba fans that the tough time they have passed this season is just temporary as they will enjoy in the upcoming campaign courtesy of good signings they are about to seal.
In a related development, he disclosed that the squad is on the ground preparing for their 29th Premier League fixture against Polisi Tanzania to be staged at Azam Complex next week.
“Though we have missed out a chance to win a trophy this season, we have to win all our remaining two matches for our reputation to be maintained by finishing well the campaign.
“As such, players are progressing well with training programmes so that we can get maximum points thereafter,” Ally said.
For Polisi Tanzania, it is a decisive fixture for them because a defeat guarantees them relegation to the championship league while a win will help to increase their opportunity of embracing playoff.
From 28 matches, Polisi Tanzania have accumulated 25 points and have just managed six wins, seven draws and 15 defeats meaning that a success over Simba takes them to 28 points and they will continue to be on 15th slot.
So far, only Ruvu Shooting have officially parted ways with the premier league and will parade in the Championship league next season.
Who joins them remain a debatable topic as the approaching last two fixtures will define the destiny of the Moshi-based side which is under the tutelage of Mwinyi Zahera.
