Simba cherish MobiAd Africa deal

SIMBA said the signed two-year youth development contract with MobiAd Africa worth 500m/- will enable them to be producers of quality players hence minimise recruitment of foreign imports.

This was disclosed by the club’s Chairman of the Board of Directors Salim Abdallah ‘Try Again’ after witnessing the signing ceremony in Dar es Salaam yesterday.

He said the development has come at the right time and pledged to work abreast with MobiAd in ensuring the invested amount achieves its desired goal.

“Let me declare that we are going to use this amount well knowing that youth development is the only solution to uplift football standards in the country and we are going to set example on this.

“What you have done is recommendable and we are going to create players to be injected in the national team meaning that this will not only help Simba but the entire nation as well,” he said.

Similarly, the club’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Imani Kajula said the move will help to nurture young talents while insisting that real progress in football can only be seen by through investing in young talents.

“In order to achieve success in football, there is no way you can ignore investment in youth and this is a right path for us.

“We need to groom our own players and do away with the tendency of signing players from outside the country,” he said.

On his part, MobiAd Chief Executive Rumisho Shikonyi reiterated that they expect to see major changes in youth football insisting that people should expect a lot from them.

“Our aim is to make sure that we preserve domestic football talents that the country is blessed with and in two- year time, we are going to see major transformation in this sector,” he said.

Furthermore, Shikonyi said football plays a big role to sort out unemployment problems as such; our involvement will make sure that these young talents, aside from playing football, they also get something to help them manage their lives.

Meanwhile, Simba have officially began preparations ahead of their final group C CAF Champions League match versus Raja Casablanca to be played in Morocco on April 1st.
