Simba break ice on Aubin Kramo saga

DAR ES SALAAM: SIMBA SC have clarified on Aubin Kramo’s saga (pictured), saying he is still their player, but not included in the competing squad this season.

The Media and Communication Manager, Ahmed Ally admitted that Kramo was not included in their list of players to compete this season.

“Kramo was injured, he has been treated and now is recovering but he was not shortlisted in this season’s competitive window. In the mini-transfer window, we were assured that his injury would last longer, as such his name was removed from the list of players to feature in the domestic league and international matches but he remains an employee of Simba. “He will continue to get his salary and other benefits plus training with the team, but he will not feature in any competitive match this season, and at the end of this campaign if he is fit, he will be included in the squad for next season’s mission,” he said.

Commenting on the status of the team’s goalkeeper, Aishi Manula, who got injured during Taifa Stars match against Bulgaria on Friday, he said they are waiting for the official update from the national team’s doctors.

“We are waiting to hear from them about the seriousness of his injury and whether he needs a long time to recover or not,” he said.

Concerning their drills in Zanzibar, he said everything is unfolding well and that players are adapting well to training sessions.

“We are having two training sessions in the afternoon and at night…from the exact time that the match will start and this is important to create the required fitness levels for players. “The good thing is that Zanzibar weather is similar to that of Dar es Salaam, as such, players will not experience any challenges,” he said.

Furthermore, he disclosed that until now, no injuries have been reported among their players who are in Zanzibar. He also remarked that some of the Simba players who were in Taifa Stars squad for the 2024 FIFA Series were expected back in the country to join their teammates in Zanzibar on Sunday night.

Simba is gearing up to play Al Ahly in the first leg of the CAF Champions League (CAF CL) at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Friday.

The duo will interface in the second leg clash at Cairo International Stadium in Egypt on April 5th whose overall winner books a ticket into the CAF CL semi-finals.

Already, the Reds disclosed that their priority is to reach the Champions League last four phase hence they need to clear Al Ahly hurdle to achieve the feat.
