Simba, Azam held

Simba forced a 1-1 draw against Kagera Sugar at Kaitaba Stadium in Kagera on Wednesday night.

The hosting side took the lead in the 15th minute through center-back Deus Bukenya.

However, Simba responded back late in the first half courtesy of a towering header from commanding defender Henock Inonga.

At 1-1, each side was having equal chances to add the tally but none of them cherished until the final whistle sounded.

With the outcome, Simba have annexed 38 points from 17 games and are now six points behind leaders Young Africans who have 44 points.

In early fixtures, Azam were held to a 1-1 draw by Geita Gold at Nyankumbu Stadium in Geita, a second straight draw by the Chamazi giants.

Prince Dube drove the Ice cream makers’ side upfront in the 15th minute only to be cancelled out by Offen Chikola in the 69th minute through a spot-kick.

From 17 matches, Azam have now accumulated 37 points to stay put in third slot while Geita Gold have produced 23 points from the same number of outings.

Also, at Sokoine Stadium in Mbeya, Tanzania Prisons recorded an encouraging 2-0 victory over Dodoma Jiji.
