Sika Tanzania seeks Swiss technology for bridges, construction materials

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Dar es Salaam-based company, Sika Tanzania, has introduced an advanced technology from Switzerland for the production of bridges and other construction materials, a move the firm says it will benefit Tanzanians by transferring skills and knowledge

That was revealed today, March 6,2026, during its celebration of Sika Tanzania’s  10- year operation.

The partnership and technology adoption are expected to further strengthen Tanzania’s industrial sector and provide lasting economic and social benefits to its citizens.

The company said its initiative supports the Tanzanian government’s efforts to create employment and expand industrial capacity in line with the 2050 Development Vision. Sika Tanzania said it has broadened job opportunities for the Tanzanian youth to 99 percent in its factories.

Sophia Assey, the company’s Head of Marketing and Distribution, said this during celebrations marking the company’s ten-year presence in Tanzania.

She highlighted that the company’s industrial investments contribute to national productivity and sustainable development, benefiting both society and the country.

Sophia added that 99 percent of the factory’s workforce are Tanzanians, and the company’s goal is to provide both direct and indirect employment opportunities for local people.

Dotto Damian from Sika Tanzania noted that the safety award the company received motivates employees and enhances workplace performance.

He said Sika Tanzania has introduced  advanced technology from Switzerland for the production of bridges and other construction materials, which will benefit Tanzanians by transferring skills and knowledge
