Shelukindo, Lentz meet to revive Tanzania-US trade dialogue forum

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Dr Samwel Shelukindo, has held talks with the Acting US Ambassador to Tanzania, Andrew Lentz, as part of efforts to strengthen relations and cooperation between Tanzania and the United States.

During the talks, the two leaders discussed various issues aimed at promoting trade and investment between the two countries, while stressing the importance of creating an enabling environment for the private sector to tap into available opportunities and expand economic cooperation.

The two sides also discussed the importance of reviving the Tanzania-US Trade Dialogue Forum, which is expected to provide an important platform for identifying and addressing challenges that hinder trade, while creating new opportunities for investment and business to the benefit of both countries.

The leaders further emphasised the importance of maintaining close cooperation in areas of mutual interest, noting that regular dialogue will remain crucial in strengthening diplomatic, trade and economic relations between Tanzania and the United States.
