Shankar harmonizes TZ-India Cultural night

INDIA’S Ravi Shankar added rhythm to the big cultural event that brightened Dar es Salaam night at Julius Nyerere International Conference on Thursday night.

Christened 2022 Tanzania India Cultural, Shankar, also known as Sri Sri Gurudev graced the event as a global humanitarian, spiritual leader, and peace envoy and preached peace and harmony among Tanzanians.

Jointly organized by the Cultural Ministry and the Art of Living, the event showcased a blend of traditional Indian and African performances.

Later, the thousands that attended the event experienced a deep meditation guided by Gurudev.

Among the dignitaries were the Minister of Culture, Arts and Sports Mohamed Mchengerwa and Hassan Abbas, the ministry’s Permanent Secretary.

Also attended was the Indian High Commissioner to Tanzania Binaya Srikanta Pradha.

During the event, The Royal Tour film was exhibited, where as in the following day Shankar toured Zanzibar to witness the wonders of the beautiful Isles.

Shankar arrived in Tanzania on Thursday and was welcomed by Minister Mchengerwa, and witnessed performances from cultural dance groups.

In the cultural event, JNICC saw the venue crowded with Tanzanian and Asian residents in Tanzania celebrating a spectacular performance from both cultures.
