SGA scoops top award at International Mining Expo

GEITA: SGA Security has scooped yet another top award for excellence in offering guarding services through the use of state of the art technology and safety in the mining industry.

The Award was presented to SGA Security during the just concluded International Mining Exhibition in Geita.

The 6th edition of the mining exhibition was closed by Zanzibar’s Second Vice President, Hon. Hemed Suleiman, after 10 days of busy activity by over 350 exhibitors.

The visitors were able to experience first hand how combination of technology and human interface boosts surveillance and prevents loss of assets in the mines.

SGA Tanzania Managing Director, Mr Eric Sambu, commended the organisers for the successful exhibition and appreciated the recognition SGA received. “This award demonstrates the efforts we have made in assuring all actors in the mining industry of reliable safety and security for them to concentrate on their core activities”, he said.

Mr Sambu added that the company invests a lot in fostering partnerships with renowned manufacturers of electronic security solutions to ensure that their customers get latest solutions at affordable prices. “Our secret has been to continuously train our technicians to remain on top and assure our customers of value for money in their investments in these technologies.

SGA was also awarded the top prize by the Ministry of Minerals last year for local content performance at the International Minerals and Mining Conference. “We pride ourselves in prioritizing locals in recruitment of personnel and procurement of items we use in our areas of operations. We foster relations with all stakeholders in all our activities to ensure that we remain sustainable”, Mr. Sambu added.

SGA Security was the first company to operate private security in Tanzania some 40 years ago. It currently employs over 5,000 Tanzanians across its national network of branches.

The company also offers latest security solutions in transportation of high value goods and case, guarding, emergency response and installation and maintenance of electronic security solutions. SGA also maintains several ISO Certifications and have won many top awards in the country and the region for the quality for their services.
