SGA hosts massive staff bonanza to mark 40th anniversary
DAR ES SALAAM: More than 300 employees of SGA Security were this weekend treated to a spectacular Bonanza as the company, which is one of the leading private security companies in the country, marked 40 years of service in Tanzania.
The colourful event, which was full of fun and flair, was held at Hekima Gardens in Dar es Salaam and saw the staff engaging in various team building activities that saw them bonding in a special way and exercising their various talents and at the same time enhancing the spirit of sportsmanship and team building.
Activities ranged from football, rede, sack race, the lemon on spoon challenge, dancing competition, tug of war and the DJ and MCs coloured the event with good live performances that forced the attendees on their feet as they danced to the songs and sang along.

Also in special attendance was renowned psychiatrist and motivational speaker Dr Kweka who took the employees through a moving session that attracted their attention as he presented on practical life experiences that affected most people at work places.
The climax of the day was the cake cutting session when the SGA Managing Director, Eric Sambu led the staff in cutting a special cake.
The MD thanked the employees for their dedication that has seen the company achieve a lot within the 40 years of service in Tanzania. “The success we have achieved all this time is attributed to your dedication and commitment to the company,” he said.
He further noted that the daylong bonanza was a way of bringing the employees together and celebrating the company’s milestones during the 40th anniversary. “This will be a yearly event and from next year we plan to do it for two days so we can make it more exciting and competitive,” he announced as the employees cheered and clapped.
The Managing Director thanked all their customers and other stakeholders including the Police Force that has been collaborating well with SGA in its operations throughout the years.

On her part, the Sales and Marketing Manager, Faustina Shoo said the bonanza was a special way of marking the 40th anniversary as employees turned out in large numbers for the commemoration.
“We take pride in our staff who are the reason for all this success so far hence have every reason to celebrate and enjoy as they are doing here,” she added.
One of the staff members, Nash Stewart, who has been with SGA for close to 30 years, thanked the management for organising the bonanza as it made the employees feel special and appreciated. “It is such a good feeling as we have engaged in different activities like sports, eating, dancing and the motivational speaker was exceptional,” she commented.
Proches Peter, who is the SGA Technical Manager, said he has been with SGA for more than 20 years adding that it felt good to be part of the historical event as the company turned 40. “I am so proud to be part of this commemoration and cannot imagine myself working elsewhere because this has become home to me now,” he emphasised.
SGA Security was the first company to operate private security in Tanzania some 40 years ago. It currently employs over 5,000 Tanzanians across its national network of branches.
The company also offers latest security solutions in transportation of high value goods and case, guarding, emergency response and installation and maintenance of electronic security solutions. SGA also maintains several ISO Certifications and have won many top awards in the country and the region for the quality for their services.
