Sea Cliff Resort Zanzibar to host May Golf Challenge

DAR ES SALAAM: SEA Cliff Resort & Spa Zanzibar will once again come alive later this month as golfers gather for the club’s anticipated May Golf Challenge, set against the scenic backdrop of the Indian Ocean.

The tournament, scheduled for May 30, 2026, will feature an 18-hole Stableford competition attracting golfers from across the country to the resort’s picturesque course.

Speaking to the ‘Daily News’, club manager Sophie Nyanjera said preparations for the event are in top gear as organisers look forward to another competitive outing following a successful April edition.

The April Challenge produced a thrilling finish after Patrick O’Rourke clinched the title with 37 points on countback, narrowly edging runnerup and club captain Tarzio Bercelli, who posted an identical score.

Both O’Rourke and Bercelli are expected to return for the May Challenge as they seek to continue their impressive form and battle for this month’s honours.

O’Rourke succeeded March champion Andrew Chung, who delivered a standout performance earlier in the season by winning with an impressive 41 Stableford points. Chung also secured the nearest-to-the-pin prize on hole nine during the March competition.

Nyanjera added that organisers are finalising preparations to ensure another successful event at the resort’s acclaimed golf course, with participants expected to enjoy a full day of competition and hospitality.

She said the event is being supported by several sponsors, including Auric Air, Villa Kiva Zanzibar, Zanzi Resort, Lemon Spa, United Petroleum and Sadricko, alongside the host venue Sea Cliff Resort & Spa Zanzibar.
