Save people’s lives, says President Samia
DAR ES SALAAM: President Samia Suluhu Hassan inaugurated a state-of-the-art Southern Regional Referral Hospital in Mtwara Region on Friday as she urged health practitioners to dedicate their time to save people’s lives.
The Head of State who is in her four-day visit in the region launched the 15bn/- project saying the facility will not only serve people living in Mtwara and other Tanzanians but also others from neighboring countries including Mozambique, Zambia, Malawi and Comoro.
“This building and equipment should be well taken care of. God has given everyone a special task, make sure you satisfy him with the way you render your services. All patients with serious problems will be treated here,” said the President who is on her maiden visit to Mtwara.
The newly launched hospital can accommodate between 800-1000 patients from neighboring regions such as Lindi and Ruvuma and outside the country.
It is a well-equipped facility that can offer specialised, super specialised healthcare varying from surgery, internal medicine, heart treatment, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology services.
Apart from the facility, President Samia also launched several development projects including the Mangamba Water Filter Project.
