Samia: With effect 6 to head various institutions

 President Samia Suluhu Hassan has appointed six officials to chair various institutions in the country.

A statement released by the Director of Presidential Communications, Zuhura Yunus on Thursday stated that the President appointed, Dr Ellen Mkondya, to chair the Muhimbili National Hospital Board of trustees.

Dr Mkondya is the Chief Executive Officer of Benjamin Mkapa Foundation in Dar es Salaam.

The Head of State also called in Justin Mwandu to chair the Tanzania Reinsurance Company Limited (TAN-RE), Prof Verdina Grace Masanja to head the board of Tanzania Forestry Research Institute (TAFORI) and Griffin Mwakapeje to be the Executive Secretary of the Public Law Reform Commission in the Ministry of Constitution and Legal Affairs.

Before the new relocation Mr Mwandu was a member of TAN-RE board of directors; Prof Masanja was a don at the Nelson Mandela University of Science and Technology and Mr Mwakapeje replacing Casmir Kyuki, who finishes his term in January, 7 2023.

Other appointees were Fatma Mohammed Abdallah being the Managing Director of PUMA ENERGY in Tanzania and David Kafulila to be the Commissioner Public and Private Partnerships (PPP).

Ms Fatma was the Manager of PUMA ENERGY in Geneva and replacing Mr Dominic Dhanah, whose term is ending and Mr Kafulila was the Simiyu Regional Commissioner.

In her statement, all the appointments start with immediate effect.
