Samia swears in newly appointed officials, calls for accountability

DAR ES SALAAM: President Samia Suluhu Hassan has sworn in newly appointed officials, including Deputy Permanent deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of State in the Vice President’s Office (Union and Environment) and regional commissioners, at the State House in Dar es Salaam and directed them to be accountable in safeguarding the rights of people within their respective working stations.

Prior to administering the oaths to the appointees, she urged them to listen to the concerns of the people and resolve challenges, including land conflicts, boosting agricultural productivity, and ensuring the availability of essential commodities like sugar.

Highlighting the significance of maintaining good working relationships and mutual respect among leaders, President Samia reminded them of their duty to serve with diligence.

She underscored the global imperative of environmental conservation, urging continued efforts in initiatives such as tree planting and encouraging the use of environmentally friendly technologies.

Moreover, she encouraged the utilization of electronic feedback systems to facilitate prompt communication between the government and the public, promoting efficiency in service delivery.

President Samia urged all leaders to uphold their faith, prioritize divine guidance, and execute their duties with utmost dedication and excellence.

The event was attended by various top officials including Vice President Dr. Philip Mpango, Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa, and Mohamed Mchengerwa, Minister of State in the President’s Office responsible for Regional Administration and Local Government Authority.
