Samia reshuffles executives

TANZANIA: PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has made several appointments and transfers within the local government, including top executives.

The Directorate of Presidential Communications said in a statement yesterday that the appointment and transfer began on December 12 of this year.

The Head of State has appointed Maryam Muhaji as the Regional Administrative Secretary (RAS) for Manyara Region. Before her appointment, Ms Muhaji was the Wanging’ombe District Executive Director (DED). She has replaced Karoline Mthapula, who will be assigned other duties.

President Samia has also appointed Zuhura Rashid as the Ruangwa District Administrative Secretary. Ms Rashid is a senior officer at the National Water Fund. She replaces Shamim Sadiq who will be assigned other duties.

Furthermore, she appointed Michael Kachoma to the position of Busega District Council DED, succeeding Ms Veronica Sayore, whose appointment has been revoked.

Similarly, President Samia has transferred Mayeka Simon from Chunya District to become the Kongwa District Commissioner.

Remedius Emmanuel has been appointed as Kiteto District Commissioner transferred from Kongwa District replacing Mbaraka Batenga who has been appointed as Chunya District Commissioner.

Others who have been transferred include Canal Hamis Maiga from Rombo District to become Misenyi District Commissioner replacing Canal Wilson Sakullo who has also been transferred to become Ngorongoro District Commissioner.

Mr Raymond Mwangwala has been moved from Ngorongoro District to become Rombo District Commissioner.

On Council Executive Directors, President Samia has moved Ms Rose Manumba from Kigoma District Council to become DED for Malinyi District Council.

Ms Rehema Bwasi has been transferred from Malinyi District Council to become Mbulu Town Council Executive Director replacing Yefred Myenzi who has been transferred to Geita Town Council to serve in the same capacity.

Ms Zahara Michuzi has been transferred from Geita Town Council to become Ifakara Town Council Executive Director replacing Ms Lena Nkya who has been moved to Tunduma Town Council as the new Executive Director.

Mr Chiriku Chilumba has been transferred from Namtumbo District Council to become DED for the Kigoma District Council.

Kisena Mabuba has been transferred from Kilosa District Council to become Shinyanga DED replacing Simon Berege, who has been moved to Rufiji District Council in the same capacity.

Mr Michael Gwimile has been transferred from Rufiji District Council to become Kilosa DED.

Ms Regina Bieda has been transferred from Momba District Council to become Kibaha District Council DED. Ms Mwajuma Nasombe has been moved from Mwanga District Council to become Moshi Municipal Council Executive Director.

Mr Rashid Gembe has been transferred from Moshi Municipal Council to become DED for Mkinga District Council replacing Ms Zahara Msangi who has been transferred to Mwanga District Council to serve in the same capacity.

Others who have been transferred include Mr Philemon Magesa from Tunduma Town Council to become DED for Namtumbo District Council. Ms Butamo Ndalahwa has been transferred from Kibaha District Council to Momba District Council as DED.

Meanwhile, President Samia has appointed Judge Mshibe Bakari to be the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Tanzania Meteorological Authority (TMA) and Dr Emmanuel Mpeta to be the Vice-Chairman of the Board.

She has also appointed Ambassador Adadi Rajab as the Chairman of the Board of the Commission for the Protection of Personal Information and Ms Fatma Ali to be the Vice-Chairperson of the Board.

Mr Theobald Sabi has also been appointed to be Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tanzania Sisal Board (TSB).
