Samia receives credentials from 6 envoys

President Samia Suluhu Hassan has received a letter of credentials for the newly appointed Belgium Kingdom Ambassador to Tanzania, Peter Hyghebaert at a function held at the State House in Chamwino, Dodoma on Thursday

PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan on thursday received letters of credence from six foreign ambassadors, who have been accredited to Tanzania during an event held at the Chamwino State House in Dodoma.

The envoys included the new South African High Commissioner to Tanzania, Ms Noluthando Mayende- Malepe and the Ambassador of Belgium in Tanzania, Mr Peter Hyghebaert.

Ms Samia also received letters of credentials and held talks with the new Kenya High Commissioner to Tanzania, Mr Isaac Njenga Gatitu and the Ambassador of Sweden, Ms Charlotta Ozaki Macias.

The Head of State also received letters of credentials and held talks with the new Japanese Ambassador to Tanzania, Mr Yasushi Misawa and new Ugandan High Commissioner in Tanzania, Col (Rtd) Fred Mwesigye.

Meanwhile, President Samia has appointed Ambassador Mwanaidi Sinare Maajar to become the Chairperson of University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) Governing Council.

A statement issued by the Directorate of Presidential Communication yesterday said Amb Majaar takes over from Judge (Rtd) Damian Lubuva, whose term has expired.

In another development, President Samia has appointed the Vice-Chancellor of UDSM, Prof William Anangisye to become the Board Chairman of National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA). Prof Anangisye is serving the position for a second term.
