He emphasised that President Samia has been dedicated to fulfilling her promises, particularly by completing the projects started by her predecessors.

In her first address to Parliament, President Samia had pledged that all ongoing projects would continue, and new ones would also be initiated. Mr Majaliwa noted that these successful efforts have dispelled fears that major strategic projects would come to a halt under the new administration.

“President Samia has effectively overseen the continuation of strategic projects, especially in the health sector, which benefit citizens across both urban and rural areas,” he said.

The Prime Minister also pointed out the government’s efforts to address water availability.

Ongoing projects are focused on utilising lakes, rivers and dams to supply clean water across the country.

For example, regions such as Shinyanga, Geita, Kagera, Simiyu, Tabora, Singida, Dodoma and Mara are set to receive clean water from Lake Victoria.

In addition to water projects, Mr Majaliwa highlighted the government’s significant investments in healthcare infrastructure, which includes improvements in hospitals, medical supplies and equipment at both local and national levels.

These investments aim to reduce the distance citizens need to travel to access treatment.

The government’s goal is to ensure that every Tanzanian has access to power.

The Prime Minister also noted that President Samia’s administration has made strides in boosting the agriculture sector, particularly by improving market structures for cotton.

Furthermore, the government has supported the fisheries sector by providing loans to fishermen for purchasing fishing equipment, including boats.

Mwanza Regional Commissioner Mr Said Mtanda commended Prime Minister Majaliwa for his support in helping President Samia fulfill her responsibilities. He praised the achievements made in various sectors under the sixth-phase government.

Mwanza’s Regional Chairman of the ruling Chama cha Mapinduzi (CCM), Mr Michael Lushinje, expressed his approval of the government’s progress, which aligns with the party’s Election Manifesto for 2020-2025.

He emphasised that the government’s focus on implementing strategic projects has brought significant improvements in various sectors.

Dr Dotto Bulendu, a lecturer from Saint Augustine University of Tanzania (SAUT), remarked that a key indicator of a government’s efficiency is its ability to continue strategic projects started by previous administrations.

According to him, President Samia’s government has excelled in this area, continuing vital projects and ensuring their successful completion.

In summary, the sixthphase government under President Samia Suluhu Hassan has made notable progress in several sectors, continuing major projects initiated by her predecessors and launching new initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure, healthcare, agriculture and energy.

These efforts reflect a commitment to fulfilling promises made to the Tanzanian people and ensuring long-term development.
