President Samia Suluhu Hassan has appointed Professor Mark Mwandosya to chair the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA) board.
A statement released by the Director of Presidential Communications, Zuhura Yunus on Friday stated that Mr Mwandosya replaces Professor Jamidu Yahaya who has completed his term.
According to the statement, Prof Mwandosya’s appointment is effective from today.
Professor Mwandosya is a retired politician and a former Member of Parliament for Rungwe East constituency. Between 2000 and 2005 he served as Minister of Communication and Transport and in 2006 he was appointed as Minister of State in the Vice-President’s Office responsible for the Environment. In 2008 he was moved to head the Ministry of Water and Irrigation.
