Samia offers 500m/- to Taifa Stars to play AFCON tournament

PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has extended her excitement with Tanzania’s football pleading to offer a 500m/- bonus to the national team ‘Taifa Stars’ should it qualify to play the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) scheduled for Ivory Coast in 2024.

Minister for Culture, Arts and Sports Dr. Pindi Chana told Journalists on Monday in Dar es Salaam the “bonus” is for the entire team.

Already President Samia offered to pay 5m/- for each goal scored by both Simba Sports Club and their competitor, Young Africans in their ongoing international tournaments.

Taifa Stars is expected to face their rivals from Uganda, ‘The Cranes’ on Friday March 24 at Ismailia, Egypt and the return leg to be played at the Benjamini Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam on March 28th.
