ZANZIBAR: PREPARATIONS are well underway for the second edition of the Zanzibar Tourism and Investment Show (ZTIS) 2025, with both President Samia Suluhu Hassan and Zanzibar’s Dr Hussein Mwinyi, expected to attend.
During a press conference, the Minister for Tourism and Heritage, Mr Mudrick Ramadhan Soraga, announced that this year’s show, themed “Celebrating Heritage & Inspiring Investment,” will feature a photography contest aimed at promoting local talent.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for young photographers,” Mr Soraga said. “We encourage them to submit their work by May 15. The top three images that best capture Zanzibar’s culture will be selected and recognised.”
ZTIS 2025 will be held on May 30 and 31 at the Zanzibar International Exhibition Centre in Nyamanzi, Dimani Constituency, Unguja West B District.

The event is set to showcase investment opportunities and boost the tourism sector by bringing together both local and international stakeholders.
Speaking at the press conference in Stone Town, Mr Soraga said that the organising team is actively working to stage a memorable show.
He said that the event reflects Zanzibar’s continued commitment to promoting economic development, preserving its rich cultural heritage and safeguarding the environment.
Mr Soraga also said that registration for the upcoming event is now open, with the goal of surpassing last year’s attendance of 1,000 participants, including foreign investors.
Mr Adil Gorge from the Zanzibar Commission for Tourism said that this year’s expo provides a valuable platform for young entrepreneurs and talented photographers to gain international recognition by showcasing their work.
