Samia mourns MP Halima Nassor, hails her dedicated service

DAR ES SALAAM: PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Halima Nassor, a Special Seats Member of Parliament for Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) representing the Workers’ Group, who passed away yesterday while receiving treatment at Muhimbili National Hospital–Jakaya Kikwete Cardiac Institute (JKCI).
In a condolence message sent to the Speaker of the National Assembly, Mr Mussa Azzan Zungu, President Samia said the nation had lost a committed and selfless leader who served both the Party and the country with dedication.
According to a statement issued by the Director of Presidential Communications, Mr Bakari Machumu, the Head of State described the late MP as a strong advocate for workers’ rights and a leader who made notable contributions to community development through her parliamentary and party responsibilities.
President Samia extended her heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, the Chairperson of the CCM Women’s Wing (UWT), CCM members, fellow Members of Parliament, as well as relatives and friends of the deceased.

She prayed for patience, comfort and strength for all those mourning and asked Almighty God to grant the late Halima eternal rest.
Meanwhile, Speaker Zungu also conveyed his condolences to Members of Parliament, the family of the late MP and relatives and friends, praying that God grant them patience and perseverance during this difficult period.
The Office of the National Assembly, in collaboration with the family, coordinated funeral arrangements.
The burial took place yesterday evening at Kibada kwa Dole Cemetery in Kigamboni, Dar es Salaam, while mourning continues at her home in Kigamboni.
