Samia mourns Mbarali MP

PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has expressed her grief and sorrow following the death of Mbarali legislator Francis Mtega (64).

The MP died on Saturday morning after he was knocked by a tractor while he was at his farm in Mbarali, Mbeya Region.

“I have been saddened by the news of the death of Mbarali MP Francis Mtega…he will be remembered for his efforts to serve citizens in Mbarali and during his service when was a civil servant in the health sector,” President Samia stated.

The Head of the State sent her condolences to all lawmakers, relatives, and friends following the loss.

In another development, Speaker of the National Assembly, Dr Tulia Ackson also sent condolences to the family of Mr Mtega and the country at large.

“I have received the news of the death of Mr Francis Mtega with great sorrow, may his family, relative, friend, fellow Members of Parliament and citizen at large be relieved from pain in this difficult time,” said Dr Ackson.

Adding: “May the almighty God give you patience and perseverance.”

She said the office of the parliament in collaboration with the deceased family was coordinating the funeral arrangements and more information will be communicated later.
