SINGIDA: President Samia Suluhu Hassan has launched the Msingi Bridge worth 208m/- in Mkalama District, Singida Region today.
The bridge which is expected to facilitate movement of people and goods between Singida and its neighboring regions including Arusha, Simiyu, Mwanza and Manyara also stands as a link between the Central Zone areas and surrounding countries in East Africa.
Expressing the government’s optimism over the bridge, the Head of State said “I believe that the presence of this bridge and others constructed in the country will further stimulate the business of agricultural activities, livestock keeping and products from small industries.”
In a separate development, President Samia announced that in the next fiscal year’s budget, the government will focus on the betterment of teachers’ lives by putting efforts in constructing teachers’ houses.
President Samia is on a three-day working visit where today she is expected to speak in a public meeting at Bombardier ground in Singida.
