Samia in, Dar honours 50 Women trailblazers

DAR ES SALAAM: THE first issue of Beyond The Hijab: 50 East African Muslim Women Trailblazers magazine was launched at the 4th Edition of the Iftar Gala in Dar es Salaam, organized by the Sisters In Imaan Foundation.

The magazine, whose name implies empowerment, highlights the achievements of 50 outstanding Muslim women from East Africa.

Speaking at the event, Salma Iddy, the Foundation’s Founder and Executive Director, emphasized that the magazine is more than just a publication; it is a celebration of resilience, ambition, and excellence.

“We honor these women who have demonstrated that faith and success go hand in hand. Their journeys in leadership, entrepreneurship, activism, education, and the arts inspire the next generation to pursue their dreams while staying true to their values,” she stated.

She also acknowledged the Tanzanian president, Samia Suluhu Hassan, as a beacon of leadership, inspiring women across Africa.

The magazine, published by Sisters In Imaan Foundation, showcases in-depth interviews and captivating visuals of women who have made significant strides in various sectors. It aims to challenge stereotypes, amplify the voices of Muslim women, and provide role models for young girls.
