President Samia Suluhu Hassan has lauded Young Africans for progressing into group stage of CAF Confederation Cup.
Through her Instagram page, she writes: “Congratulations Young Africans for the win and moving further in the 2022-23 confederation cup contest. I wish them the best of luck in the next stage.”
Yanga recorded a 1-0 aggregate win over Club Africain to venture into the last 16 of the competition after displaying outstanding performance at Stade Olympique de Rades in Tunis, Tunisia on Wednesday evening.
A tactical switch by Head Coach Nassredine Nani early in the second half which saw him calling to bench Khalid Aucho for Stephanie Aziz Ki beared fruits in the 79th minute as his powerful strike steered his side to the group stage.
The Jangwani street giants have since earned kudos from various people for the amicably completing the away mission.
As it stands, the two Kariakoo based sides Simba and Yanga are the country’s only representatives in the CAF Interclub games and are now waiting for the CAF draw to be conducted and know their opponents.
