Samia, Dr Mwinyi, send condolences to Ndugai family, CCM members

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Tanzanian President, Samia Suluhu Hassan, and the President of Zanzibar, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, have sent their condolences following the sudden demise of the former Speaker of the National Assembly, Job Yustino Ndugai, who passed away earlier today in Dodoma.

In a message shared on her social media platforms, President Samia expressed deep sorrow upon receiving the news of the veteran leader’s death, who also formerly served as a Member of Parliament for the Kongwa constituency.

“I have received with great sadness the news of the passing of Hon. Job Yustino Ndugai, Former Speaker of the National Assembly of the United Republic of Tanzania. I extend my condolences to his family, all members of the ruling party CCM, parliamentary staff, Members of Parliament who served with him, the people of Kongwa, relatives, and friends,” President Samia wrote.

She further urged Tanzanians to unite in prayer for Ndugai and offer comfort and strength to his family during this difficult time.

“Let us come together in prayer for the late Hon. Ndugai and pray for his family, relatives, and friends to have patience, comfort, and spiritual strength during this difficult period. May Almighty God rest his soul in eternal peace,” she added.

On his part, the President of Zanzibar, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, through a statement released by the Deputy Director of Communications at State House, Raqey Mohamed, also expressed deep sadness at the news of Ndugai’s passing.

“He has received with profound sorrow the news of the passing of the former Speaker of the National Assembly and former Member of Parliament for Kongwa, Hon. Job Yustino Ndugai, which occurred on August 6, 2025, in Dodoma,” the statement said.

Dr. Mwinyi said he will remember the late Ndugai for his significant contributions in various leadership roles he held during his lifetime, particularly his dedicated service to the nation with patriotism and integrity.

He also extended his condolences to President Samia Suluhu Hassan, Speaker of the National Assembly Dr. Tulia Ackson, the late Ndugai’s family, the people of Kongwa constituency, and all those affected by the loss.

“President Dr. Mwinyi has called upon all those affected by this loss to remain patient and strong during this difficult time of mourning. May God rest his soul in eternal peace. Amen,” the statement concluded.
