PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has appointed Ambassador Modest Mero Chairman of the Gaming Board of Tanzania Board of Directors.
A statement availed to the media on Friday by Directorate of Presidential Communications Unit said that the appointment starts with immediate effects.
According to the statement, Ambassador Mero is the Director of Discovery Group Board based in New York.
Ambassador Mero is a statutory civil servant who retired on 28 September 2019 at 60 years of age. He has been Ambassador Extra Ordinary and Plenipotentiary, the Permanent Representative of the United Republic of Tanzania to United Nations in New York from December 23, 2016 to December16, 2019.
He is currently an independent consultant in Business Strategies, international trade, global issues and advisory service.
