Samatta out as Tanzania’s 2024 FIFA Series squad unveiled

DAR ES SALAAM: TAIFA Stars skipper Mbwana Samatta has been omitted from the 23-man squad called for drills ahead of the 2024 FIFA Series to be held in Azerbaijan from March 22nd to 25th.

During the period, the country’s envoys will play two friendly matches against Bulgaria on March 22nd before hosting Mongolia on March 25th.

Other games will see hosts Azerbaijan taking on Mongolia on March 22nd while on March 25th, Azerbaijan will lock horns against Bulgaria.

The full squad named by interim coach Hemed Morocco in Dar es Salaam on Wednesday consist of the following players.

Goalkeepers: Aishi Manula (Simba), Aboutwaleeb Mshery (Yanga) and Kwesi Kawawa (Syrianska FC, Sweden).

Defenders: Bakari Mwamnyeto (Yanga), Ibrahim Bacca (Yanga), Lusajo Mwaikenda (Azam), Haji Mnoga (Aldershot Town, England), Mohamed Hussein (Simba), Novatus Dismas (Shakhtar Donestsk, (Ukraine), Kennedy Juma (Simba) and Miano Danilo (Villena CF, Spain).

Midfielders: Feisal Salum (Azam), Mudathir Yahya (Yanga), Moris Micheal (RFK Novi Sad, Serbia), Himid Mao (Tela’ea El Gaish SC, Egypt), Yahya Zaydi (Azam) and Tarryn Allarakhia (Wealdstone, England).

Strikers: Clement Mzize (Yanga), Simon Msuva (Alnajmah FC, Saudi Arabia), Kibu Denis (Simba), Abdul Suleiman (Azam), Ben Starkie (IIkestone Town, England) and Charles M’mombwa (Macarthur FC, Australia).
