SADC countries commend Tanzania’s strides in promoting clean cooking energy

DODOMA: THE Tanzanian government has intensified efforts to promote clean cooking energy, urging energy sector staff to scale up adoption nationwide in line with national priorities.
Speaking earlier in Dodoma today, the Commissioner for Electricity and Renewable Energy Innocent Luoga said the clean cooking agenda is already yielding results, earning Tanzania recognition across the region, including within the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
Elaborating on the need for the ministry to maintain the pace, the commissioner said that Tanzania’s progress was recently commended during a SADC meeting.

He said speeches at the regional meeting, including that of Emmerson Mnangagwa, acknowledged Tanzania’s strides in promoting clean cooking energy, with SADC resolutions urging member states to support the country’s initiatives.
Moreover, Eng Luoga commended President Samia Suluhu Hassan for championing the agenda and praised ministry staff for driving efforts that aim to improve public health and reduce environmental degradation.
