Rwanda affirms allegiance with Tanga Port for cargo transit

TANGA: RWANDA has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening trade relations with the Tanga Port, including continued use of the facility for cargo transit.
This was stated by Rwanda’s High Commissioner to Tanzania, Patrick Nyamvumba, during a visit to the port aimed at assessing operations and exploring further opportunities for enhancing trade cooperation.
Ambassador Nyamvumba said Tanga Port has become an important logistical link for the movement of commercial goods to and from Rwanda, stressing the need to further strengthen bilateral trade cooperation between the two countries.

Additionally, the envoy commended the port for its efficiency in handling Rwandan cargo, noting that its performance has encouraged Rwanda to continue relying on the facility for its import and export needs.
Earlier, Acting Manager of Tanga Port, Peter Millanzi, said Rwanda remains one of the key users of the port, with goods such as coils, vehicles, machinery and petroleum products regularly passing through the facility.
He added that the port is committed to further improving service delivery in order to attract more users and strengthen its competitiveness in the regional logistics sector.
