Residents advised to cooperate with experts engaged in mission to establish customs centre in Ngorongoro

NGORONGORO: RESIDENTS of Ngorongoro District in Arusha Region have been urged to cooperate with experts assessing the need to establish a customs service station in the area to determine whether it meets the legal and operational requirements for such a facility.

The call was made by Deputy Minister for Finance, Engineer Mshamu Ali Munde, during his visit to Njoroi Village in Ololosokwan Ward, Loliondo Division, along the Tanzania-Kenya border, where the proposed customs station could be established.

Munde said residents should provide accurate information and cooperate with the assessment team, stressing that all legal procedures must be followed before the government makes a decision on establishing the facility.

He added that if the area meets the required criteria, the government would ensure that the initiative delivers tangible benefits to local residents and the country as a whole.
