Record as Tanzania deploys two teams in CAFCL group stage

DAR ES SALAAM A new record is stamped as for the first time, Tanzania deploys two envoys Simba and Young Africans in the group stage of CAF Champions League.

Simba have sealed qualification on away goal rule following a 3-3 aggregate success against Power Dynamos of Zambia.

In the return leg at Azam Complex in Dar es Salaam on Sunday afternoon, the two teams have produced a 1-1 draw.

The visitors scored first in the 16th minute by Andy Boyeli forcing the hosts to level the deficit in the 68th minute via an own goal by Kondwani Chiboza.

At Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola, Zambia, the duo played out to a 2-2 draw.
For Yanga, they defeated Al Merrikh 3-0 on aggregate to venture in the last 16.

However, group stage draw of the CAF Inter-club Games is slated on Friday at CAF headquarters in Egypt.
