RC Shigella advocates for religious teachings among minors
GEITA Regional Commissioner, Mr Martin Shigella has asked parents and guardians to insist on religious teachings among their children so that the minors could grow while embracing good morals.
Mr Shigella made the plea recently during the handing over of the Christmas gift from President Dr Samia Suluhu to the children of the Moyo wa Huruma Children centre in Geita.
Mr Shigella urged the children at the centres to study hard as President Samia’s government has guaranteed friendly environment for them to achieve their goals regardless of their economic status.
“President Samia loves you, she has directed me to give you gifts including four goats, 200 kilos of rice, oil, beans, and others as well as drinks so that you can celebrate the festivities.”
Moyo wa Huruma Children Centre Head, Joseph Francis, said from 2006 to 2022, the centre has taken care of 179 children, 17 of them have already been returned to their families.
He said currently the centre has a total of 159 children, among them 14 children have completed primary education this year, three have completed the Bachelor degree and four are still studying in various colleges.
Manager of the Moyo wa Huruma children Centre, Sister Maria Lauda thanked President Samia for the gift to the children and assured of the children’s safety.
She said that was the second time to receive a gift from President Samia whereby in October this year they received bed sheets, a situation which showed great love from the country’s top leader.
