KAGERA: KAGERA Regional Commissioner (RC) Ms Fatma Mwassa has appealed to religious leaders in the region and others across the country to offer their cooperation in restoring people’s morals, build good image and promote good governance.

“Religious leaders have a noble duty in moulding social unity. By preaching and encouraging a life based on values among your believers, corruption and other vices would be eliminated in the society which greatly affects the provision of services and justice in society,” she said.

Ms Mwassa made the remarks on Monday to mark during EID celebrations held at the Kaitaba Stadium in Bukoba Municipality.

Meanwhile, the Kagera Regional Chairman under the National Muslim Council of Tanzania (BAKWATA), Sheikh Haruna Kichwabuta has urged Muslims to utilise the 40 days of fasting to change their lives and be exemplary to others in society.
