Ramović credits discipline over Kagera Sugar win

DAR ES SALAAM: YOUNG Africans head coach, Sead Ramović, credited his team’s 4-0 victory over Kagera Sugar to their players’ discipline, which stemmed from a week-long training regimen aimed at neutralising opponents.
Speaking after the match at the KMC Complex in Dar es Salaam on Friday, Ramović commended his players for effectively taking advantage of the chances they created, thanks to their rigorous preparations on how to counter and contain their rivals.
“We trained the entire week on how they break and how we should break against the opponents. We studied how they defend and attack,” Ramović stated.
He credited Young Africans’ success to the high calibre of players in his squad, saying, “It’s the individual quality that we have in our team. We have unbelievably fantastic players and, of course, a great attitude, which we demonstrated once again. I can only be proud to be the coach of these amazing players.Alhamdulillah for this result,” he added.
While admitting that the match was challenging, Ramović commended his squad for their control of the game, pressing their opponents and maintaining discipline throughout the 90 minutes.
“The way we played from the beginning to the end, I believe we deserved to win and in the manner that we did,” he asserted. Despite the dominant victory, the German coach acknowledged Kagera Sugar’s performance, commending their competitive spirit and quality style of play.
“First of all, I would like to congratulate our opponents for a fair and tough game,” he remarked.

Kagera Sugar’s assistant coach, Toni Felix, spoke to the press after the match, reflecting on the realities of football and emphasising that there are three possible outcomes in a game: A win, a draw, or a loss.
“Unfortunately, we didn’t come out on top today, but every match is an opportunity to learn,” Felix said. He added, “One of the key lessons we have taken away is the importance of capitalising on goal-scoring opportunities. When you have the chance to score, you must make it count.
If you don’t, you might end up regretting it, as we did today.” Following the 4-0 win, Young Africans sit second in the league with 42 points, just one point behind their arch-rivals Simba, who secured a 3-0 victory against Tabora United at the Ali Hassan Mwinyi Stadium in Tabora.
While Young Africans celebrated their victory and rise to the top of the league, Kagera Sugar continued to struggle in the relegation zone, remaining with just 11 points from 16 matches, the same number of games played by Young Africans.
