Public servants told to promote peace
DODOMA: PERMANENT Secretary in the President’s Office – Public Service Management and Good Governance, Mr Juma Mkomi has called on public servants across the country to uphold peace, unity, and patriotism while executing their daily duties for the greater good of the nation.
Speaking in Dodoma during a regular capacity-building session for staff in his office held on Monday, Mr Mkomi said the public service plays a vital role in preserving the country’s peace and stability through the delivery of quality services, adherence to ethics, and avoidance of divisive practices.
“Public servants are the mirror of the government; therefore, you must lead by example through integrity, tolerance and patriotism,” he said.
Mr Mkomi reminded government employees to observe principles of good governance, accountability, and proper use of public resources while maintaining conduct that projects a positive image of the government.
He further stressed that discipline and professionalism among public servants are key to sustaining citizens’ confidence in government institutions.

On his part, the Director of the ICT Security and Defence Unit at the Ministry of Information, Communication and Information Technology, Mr Mussa Chiwelenje cautioned civil servants to safeguard personal and official data and to refrain from tampering with ICT infrastructure, warning that such acts could compromise national security.
Mr Mkomi underscored that the sixth-phase government remains committed to nurturing an ethical, accountable, and patriotic public service that drives Tanzania’s development agenda while protecting the peace and unity the nation enjoys.
