KILIMANJARO: DEPUTY Permanent Secretary responsible for tourism in the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism Mr Nkoba Mabula has reiterated the government’s unwavering dedication to support and facilitate tourism sector, ensuring an environment conducive for tourism activities.
Mr Mabula made the remarks in an event after receiving Illovo Sugar Africa Kilimanjaro climber team from eight countries who reached Mount Kilimanjaro’s Uhuru Peak, standing 5,895 meters/19841ft above sea level.
Mr Mabula commended the climbers for undertaking the Mount Kilimanjaro Summit expedition to promote tourism and support communities through the ‘period poverty’ initiative aimed to reach 20,000 girls countrywide.
The Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB) Director General Mr Ephraim Mafuru said the initiative is a catalyst for enriching tourism attractions in the country and is committed to supporting initiatives that fortify the sustainability of the tourism sector.

On his part, Mr Derick Stanley, the Corporate Affairs Director of Kilombero Sugar emphasized the significance of showcasing diversity and inclusion through the participation of the diverse group of climbers, accentuating Tanzania’s splendor as the host country and Mount Kilimanjaro as a purpose-driven tourist attraction in harmony with conscience.
Mr Stanley further applauded Kilombero team for reaching the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, represented by Tanzania representatives, symbolizing the product’s quality, market presence, and distinction amidst the majestic mountains.
For his part, the Climber lead team, Dr Ernest Peresu expressed genuine appreciation for Tanzanian hospitality and the picturesque natural resources abundant in Tanzania, encouraging individuals worldwide to come and partake in the unparalleled Tanzanian Experience
