ST Augustine University (SAUT) Vice-Chancellor, Prof Costa Ricky Mahalu has expressed his satisfaction with the progress recorded in execution of strategic projects started during the fifth phase government.
Prof Mahalu made the remarks recently in an exclusive interview with the ‘Daily News’ in Chato District shortly after visiting the grave of the fifth phase president, the late Dr John Pombe Magufuli.
He said within two years of President Samia Suluhu Hassan, the strategic projects have continued to be executed.
Prof Mahalu pointed out that some of the projects include the construction of the Kigongo-Busisi Bridge, the modern Nyegezi Bus Station, Standard Gauge Railway and the modern market in Mwanza.
He said President Samia has shown a sincere commitment in honoring the vision of her predecessor whose dream was to see Tanzania and Africa being economically independent.
“The late Magufuli believed that Africans can run many projects independently,” he said.
He added, “That was a point that the late president Dr Magufuli admired, seeing our nation becoming one of the top countries economically, politically and socially.”
Prof Mahalu insisted that the sixth phase government under President Samia is working hard to achieve the vision of the fifth phase government.
“If we look at the resources we have, it’s clear that we can make it possible, let’s keep supporting our president Dr Samia.”
