Prof Kabudi assures political parties of Tanzania’s readiness for political dialogues
DAR ES SALAAM: THE Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office responsible for Policy, Parliament, Coordination and Persons with Disabilities, Professor Palamagamba Kabudi, has urged political parties to embrace dialogue, saying the government’s doors are open and President Samia Suluhu Hassan is ready to listen to them without fear.
Prof Kabudi made the remarks in Dar es Salaam on October 7, 2026, during the launch of the new leadership and logo of the Council of Political Parties, an event attended by representatives of various political parties, including NCCR Mageuzi, TLP, CUF, NRA, DP, CCK, AFP, ACT Wazalendo, UDP, SAU, ADC, TLS and CHAUMA.
He said President Samia has emphasised the importance of political party leaders sitting together and engaging in dialogue, adding that the Government is ready to receive their views through the Registrar of Political Parties or the Council of Political Parties.

“Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan has insisted that we sit together and talk, and I also urge us to sit together and talk. The Government’s doors are open. Come and talk to us through the Registrar or the Council of Political Parties. However, when you come to the dialogue, you must also accept that there has to be consensus; it is not necessary that everything you want must be accepted,” Prof. Kabudi said.
He further said views should be expressed in a courteous, dignified and respectful manner, urging political leaders to avoid abusive language.
Prof. Kabudi also stressed the importance of respecting women in politics, strengthening accountability and continuing the fight against corruption, saying these principles are essential for creating a better political environment and strengthening democracy in the country.
