Prisons, tactician Minziro part ways

MBEYA: Premier League side Tanzania Prisons have let go coach Felix Minziro with immediate effect.

A statement released on Tuesday and signed by the club’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Ajabu Kifukwe says the club will be under the tutelage of Assistant Coach Shabani Mtupa.

“For the benefit of our club, the management has terminated the contract with coach Minziro from today following mutual agreement of the two sides.

“Minziro signed a one year contract at our club on July 14th, 2023 and officially joined the team on July 17th, 2023,” reads part of the statement.

This season, Tanzania Prisons have cherished one win from nine games they have played.

They sit on 14th place with only seven points accumulated from one triumph and four draws, and they have succumbed to four defeats.

It has been a bumpy ride for them so far in the league as they seek to make a U-turn before things get out of hand.
