Prisons stun Azam FC 1-0
Azam have suffered their first blow of the season following a 1-0 defeat from Tanzania Prisons at Sokoine Stadium in Mbeya on Friday evening.
Jeremiah Juma scored the only goal of the match in the 46th minute which was enough to give his side maximum points.
The nosedive means Azam’s four-match unbeaten run has ended at the Sokoine venue where they clinched all points in their previous game versus Mbeya City.
Also, it is the first upset for the team’s new trainer Denis Lavagne who was steering the team for the second time after succeeding Abdihamid Moallin.
With the defeat, Azam remain with eight points after five games and a win today could have taken them at the top of the table.
For Tanzania Prisons, the triumph was their second and they now have seven points from five fixtures.
