Prince Nyerere wins first ARC points in Rwanda

DAR ES SALAAM: TANZANIA’S Prince Charles Nyerere won his first African Rally Championship points after finishing third overall in the Mountain Gorilla Rally of Rwanda this evening.
Rwanda’s Mountain Gorilla Rally was the third round of this year’s African Rally Championship(ARC) after the previous rounds in Uganda and Kenya.
Navigated by Fernand Rutabingwa from Rwanda, the youthful Tanzania powered Mitsubishi Evolution X to the third position finishing behind the Kenyan Nikhil Sachania and the winner Samman Vohra Singh.
Yassin Nasser, another Tanzanian driver finished fourth overall in the Ford Fiesta.
Prince Nyerere’s maiden win delighted the Tanzanian motorsports family as he failed to secure a single point in the two previous rounds.
“Congratulations for your maiden ARC podium finish,” said Amapiano team’s navigator, David Matete.

Also hailed Prince Charles’s remarkable finish was the former national champion, Dharam Pandya.
