President Samia Suluhu Hassan has invited investors from Hungary to come and invest in seven areas as the two countries have agreed to enhance cooperation for mutual benefits.
Speaking at a joint press conference with her Hungarian counterpart Katalin Novák in the State House, Dar es Salaam on Tuesday, President Samia discussed strategic areas for investment as renewable energy, tourism, ICT and service delivery, mining, fisheries, manufacturing and finance.
“I wish to reiterate my government’s commitment to render the necessary facilitation and assistance to the Hungarian business community wishing to invest in Tanzania,” President Samia said.
Additionally, President Samia noted that as the trade and investment volume between the two counties stood at 4.2 million US Dollars, according to the latest data, the two sides are determined to explore more opportunities as well as to promote business and investment between Tanzania and Hungary.
Equally, Dr Samia said that she looks forward to Tanzania receiving more tourists from Hungary as a result of President Katalin’s visit to the Eastern African Country, adding that in 2022 her country welcomed 7,188 tourists from Hungary.

“While this is not a huge number, it is significant in the highest number of Hungarian tourists recorded in Tanzania. We believe that after your visit, more tourists from Hungary will visit the country and we also invite more investors from Hungary to Tanzania to explore opportunities for investment in our tourism sector,” she stated.
On her side, Hungarian President Katalin Novák said that the two sides are looking forward to improving the economic relations of both countries.
