DODOMA: Chama cha Mapinduzi (CCM) National Chairperson, President Samia Suluhu Hassan, has urged party members not to become complacent in the upcoming 2025 General Election despite the party’s size and influence.
Speaking at the climax of the party’s 48th-anniversary celebrations in Dodoma, President Samia called on CCM members to remain vigilant and not fear opposition parties.
She stressed the importance of safeguarding the public’s trust and the party’s role in leading the nation.
“Although CCM is the largest party with great hopes for the upcoming election, we must not become complacent,” President Samia said, emphasizing the need to use the celebrations to reaffirm the party’s commitment to providing stable leadership for the country’s prosperity.
The President also highlighted the importance of adapting to the country’s socio-economic and demographic changes, urging the party to focus on strategic planning, sound policies, and effective action to continue earning the people’s trust.
“While our history is important, it will not be the only factor that determines our success in the future. We must be prepared to be judged by our policies, plans, and the results we deliver to the people,” she added.
President Samia also emphasized the need to strengthen the party’s Youth Community to secure its future, calling for greater investment in young members’ political education and their understanding of the party’s foundational principles.
“The future of our party and our country will be ensured by empowering the youth, both inside and outside Tanzania, so they can build institutional capacity and engage in discussions with anyone who challenges our party,” she said.

In addition, President Samia urged party members to engage with citizens at all levels, from the ward to the village, to share the party’s achievements. She also encouraged the youth to motivate people to register for the permanent voter’s roll.
CCM, she noted, remains a party that unites people, with unity as its core value. It continues to play a key role in maintaining peace and cohesion in the country, earning respect both domestically and internationally.
“As we mark 48 years of CCM, I want to emphasize that our ideology remains unchanged we serve all people. Humanity is one, and Africa is united,” President Samia said.

Meanwhile, Dr. Hussein, the Vice Chairperson of CCM Zanzibar and the party’s presidential candidate for the upcoming elections in Zanzibar, also called for unity within the party. He noted that CCM’s success over the past 48 years has been rooted in its solidarity.
“As we approach the general election later this year, it is crucial that we preserve our unity to strengthen the party and ensure it continues to lead the government in both parts of the United Republic of Tanzania, as outlined in the CCM Constitution,” Dr. Hussein said.
He also urged members to encourage others to register for the voter roll and ensure they cast their votes for CCM in the upcoming elections.
