President Samia Suluhu Hassan has witnessed the signing of a contract that will guide the execution of nutrition programs in the country as she instructed the Ministry of State in the President’s Office, (PO-RALG) to ensure proper management of funds.
Shortly after the signing ceremony held in Dodoma on Friday, the Head of State said the government is determined to invest in human development to have capable manpower who can work effectively and utilize available resources for the country’s development.
“Let us invest in human development. We disburse a lot of money in the development budget…but now let us invest in human capital development,” the President stated.
The Head of State instructed that all local institutions dealing with nutrition issues should be identified and incorporated into the national plan.
She thanked international organizations including UNICEF, WFP, and UN whose nutritional-related programmes conform to the government’s plans.
Earlier, President Samia launched projects worth 94.4bn/- aimed at improving health services at health centers and education.
Under the launched projects, 52 vehicles will be disbursed to district education officers while 517 motorcycles will be handed over to boost primary health care provision.
