President Samia sends ‘best wishes’ to all on Eid’l Adha

PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan sent ‘best wishes’ to all, Thursday as Muslim turned to celebrate the occasion of Eid’l Adha calling on people to exercise peace, unity, love and remember the needy.
“I wish you all a happy Eid Al Adha. Let’s celebrate this good day with peace, unity and love, remembering all those who are most in need,” she tweeted.
Eid al-Adha or the Feast of Sacrifice is the second and the largest of the two main holidays celebrated in Islam (the other being Eid al-Fitr). It honours the willingness of Abraham (Ibrahim) to sacrifice his son, Ishmael (Ismail), as an act of obedience to God’s command. However, before Abraham could sacrifice his son in the name of God, and because of his willingness to do so, God provided him with a ram to sacrifice in his son’s place.
President Samia said people should also use the day to continue asking “Allah to accept our worship, forgive our mistakes, guide us in good, truth and justice.”
She wants people to remain united. President Samia prayed that God help keep the countrymen away from everything that could create division.
