The Commander-In-Chief of Armed Forces, President Samia Suluhu Hassan has appointed the Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police (SACP), Mzee Ramadhani Nyamka as the Commissioner General of Prison Services.
Prior to the appointment, SACP Nyamka was the acting Commissioner responsible for Correctional Services.
According to a statement released by the Director of Presidential Communications, Zuhura Yunus on Thursday, the appointee replaces Major General Suleiman Mungiya Mzee who was recently appointed as Mara Regional Commissioner.
The statement added that his appointment is effective from August 24, 2022.
