President Samia mourns envoy perished in crash

President Samia Suluhu Hassan has mourned the death of the Tanzanian Ambassador to Austria, Ambassador Celestine Mushi died in a road crash at Mkata, Handeni District, Tanga on Thursday.

The envoy was also a permanent representative of the United Republic of Tanzania to other international organisations in Vienna, Austria.

In her condolence tweet, President Samia said the country has lost a person who had great contributions in diplomacy and public service.

“I am deeply saddened by the news of the death of Celestine Mushi, the Ambassador of Tanzania in Austria and Permanent Representative of the United Republic of Tanzania and other International Organisations in Vienna, Austria.

“We have lost a person who had great contributions in diplomacy and public service,” the President tweets.

Mushi was appointed by President Samia Suluhu as the Ambassador of Tanzania to Austria in January this year.

On May 5, 2022, he presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Austria, Alexander Van der Bellen.
