President Samia hosts food systems forum 2023 in Dar

Various top government officials and retired leaders have attended the Africa Food Systems Forum 2023 Launch and Fundraising Dinner at the State House in Dar es Salaam.

The event is being hosted by President Samia Suluhu Hassan in a hybrid ceremony.

The event has been attended by over 300 participants including youth, farmers, women, government leaders philanthropist and development partners as the premier drum beat event towards the Africa Food Systems Forum 2023 in September.

Vice President Dr Phillip Mpango, President of Zanzibar Dr Hussein Mwinyi, Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa and Speaker Dr Tulia Ackson are among top public officials have also attended the well-attended event.
Retired President Jakaya Kikwete and Ex-Prime Premier Mizengo Pinda and other key food system stakeholders have attended the event.

This year’s summit is anchored around building Africa’s Food Systems and Food Sovereignty with the youth and women at the center.

The summit will launch the theme of this year’s summit. It will call for re-energized commitment and a renewed sense of energy in the food systems conversation with a focus on regenerating interest in Agriculture as a means of wealth creation for the continent
