President Samia Suluhu Hassan has declared that Tanzania will observe a five-day period of national mourning in honour of the late UK Queen Elizabeth II.
Queen Elizabeth passed away on Thursday aged 96.
According to a statement released by the State House early Saturday, the flag will be flown at half-mast throughout Tanzania and all diplomatic missions abroad effectively from today.
“The President has requested all Tanzanians to join with our fellows from UK during this difficult time…,” the statement said.
